DONT YOU DARE STARE

At this instant when people are burning with anguish and condoling the death of a 23 year old martyr or brave heart which the whole country has named the girl who stopped breathing recently. There are numerous debates on every news chanel, people demanding for fast track courts and trials for rape cases , death penalty for assaulter ,candle marches and so much more...
What is the problem? i cant come to list it exactly its the mixture of every thing and mainly us the way we have been brought up or the way we bring up our kids ,i do agree that we have a wonderful traditon and culture but some things just have to change on one hand we worship women and at the same time disrespect us , I am saying us because one , iam a woman and two , because every one is responsible .. Most of the times when i walk down the streert i see a lot of men staring at a lot of women i dont understand why! the stare is so harsh that it bores till the bones its disgusting . one might think that its just staring but no even the stare is an assault on a person's self respect is it not????
The problem starts there because we forget to react at the very begining first stop searching reasons for rapes & molestations and find solutions for eradicating them let us stop talking and debating about whant went wrong and instead find what could be right . Let the new year bring us the relief being safe . the sad part is though the whole country is protesting against such henious acts  there was a little girl only 16 year old who was molested in the same city where lakhs of people are protesting against such activities ironic at the same time shameful.. let the resolution be to take care of oneself and others to be protected and to be protective .. wel thats my new year resolution

THE UNQUENCHED THIRST

I still remember this incident very distinctively , my cousin and myself usually go out for long walks even during hot summer noons . We go to parks sit, talk, listen to music or just laze arround, basically to destress or to chill out.
So one such noon we were in a park after the usual golgappe ,we were broke as it was month end and our pockets were empty , we strolled in the park sat on a bench when my hiccups started it seemed never ending i tried breathing softly , taking people's names ( its so belived that it stops hiccups )
one might think " what? why did'nt i drink water???" but that is the problem we did'nt have water ,no cash to buy it as well so we sat there trying every other method . I saw a sweeper lady and asked her if she knew where i could find water to drink , she gave the directions and went . we thought we will go later as we did'nt have a bottle to store the water and we wer'nt sure whether there would be a glass or not.....
the sweeper lady came back with a bottle of water for ME!! it is was a very simple gesture but i could'nt speak due to her kind act which had surprised  me . all i could do was say thanks and smile, she also said "thanks thanks" and smiled a beautiful smile showing her paan chewed teeth .
i felt warm, though i expressed my gratitude with a thanks , what i felt was beyond words ...
though this was a small incident i realised that we have many unquenched thirsts maybe for words when needed,  kindness, smiles or sometimes just water...
which may or may not be quenched but all i know is we all need some one some time to help us and that some one could be any one . And i belive that person shows up.... like my sweeper lady smiling beautifully with paan chewed teeth.
